On Thursday, 7th March, Blackrow proudly offered support in collaboration with 'The Great Escape' at Grimsby's Docks, aiding the charity by providing assistance with equipment in need of PAT testing.

Jack (pictured) dedicated his morning to meticulously carrying out tests on all electrical appliances at ‘The Great Escape’ & ‘Blackgull Community Venue’ – a pioneering establishment as the first recovery café and community hub in North East Lincolnshire.

As we celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th, it's important to reflect on the progress we've made towards gender equality in the workplace, and the work that still needs to be done. In many industries, including engineering and manufacturing, women continue to be underrepresented, although the UK founded the world's first women's engineering society in 1919. Today, female engineers account for only 12% of the industry's labour.

It’s National Apprenticeship Week and at Blackrow Engineering, we are proud to invest in the future of skilled engineers and professionals across the trades.

We are currently investing in 23 apprentices across our teams, with a new cohort of 7 apprentices set to join our fabrication, sheet metal, machining, and electrical teams in September of this year.

Blackrow is helping introduce children to a world of recycling and engineering after installing a stunning steel sphere at Ormiston South Parade Academy.

Just like the Hammy the Haddock, planet earth, and bucket and spade sculptures which passers-by see on Cleethorpes Promenade, this new steel structure is a recycling bin with a difference, and the team hope it will inspire a future generation of engineers.
