Blackrow is helping introduce children to a world of recycling and engineering after installing a stunning steel sphere at Ormiston South Parade Academy.

Just like the Hammy the Haddock, planet earth, and bucket and spade sculptures which passers-by see on Cleethorpes Promenade, this new steel structure is a recycling bin with a difference, and the team hope it will inspire a future generation of engineers.

We are delighted to welcome the latest edition to our Health and Safety Team, Ian Sanderson. Ian joins us as a Health and Safety Advisor after many years of operating a limited company in the field.

At Blackrow, we believe it is important to support our employees with causes that are close to their heart. Paul Wright is no stranger to fundraising, and has previously organised a charity football match.

Now, Paul has decided to take on the London Marathon in memory of his friend Lee Clarke who sadly passed away this year.

National Apprenticeship Week is an annual, week-long celebration that aims to shine a light on apprenticeships and the benefits they can provide to young people, organisations and communities. At Blackrow, we are proud to commit to recruiting local talent via apprenticeship schemes.

We have been using apprenticeships to recruit young aspiring engineers for several years, allowing us not only to shape the engineering talent of the future but also to instil them with the Blackrow Group ethos.

In December 2021, our colleague Sue Nidd is celebrating 30 years at Blackrow. The team were proud to present her with her long service award, along with a bouquet of flowers, and thank her for her work.

Blackrow are proud to have been commissioned to design, manufacture and install the third recycling sculpture on Cleethorpes promenade. North East Lincolnshire Council commissioned the project as part of an ongoing initiative to tackle litter locally.

At Blackrow we are constantly looking for ways to enhance and expand our offering, and to stay on the leading edge of the engineering industry. This is why we invest heavily into our state of the art facilities, just last year we invested £1M into a state of the art machinery for our workshop.
