The memorial, which Blackrow Group designed, fabricated, and installed, is now a powerful symbol of remembrance in Cleethorpes, celebrating the courage and sacrifice of naval personnel across generations.

The statue showcases beautifully detailed metal reliefs of three key figures: a Royal Navy sailor, a Women’s Royal Navy (WRNS) sailor, and the iconic “Yomper” Royal Marine, an image made famous by Peter Holdgate’s portrayal of a Royal Marine during the Falklands Conflict.

The unveiling of the statue took place on November 2nd 2024, with veterans, community members, and notable guests in attendance, including Nigel Smith, a veteran who served aboard HMS Antrim during the Falklands conflict.
