The pandemic may be restricting the way we can celebrate and get together but we didn’t want to let it stop us marking the retirement of one of our longest serving employees.

Rhys Williams started at Blackrow in 2004 and has worked in our Sheet Metal Workshop as a sheet metal worker for 16 years.

We wanted to mark his retirement with the presentation of a collection from staff and the Directors. The socially distanced presentation was attended by our on-site staff and so many people wanted to attend that we had to hold it in the car park.

Rhys commented on the changes he has seen over his time at Blackrow,

“The biggest change I’ve seen during my career at Blackrow is the huge scale of expansion in recent years”

He added, “I’ll miss all the lads, after working here 7 days a week it will be strange”.

Rhys has been a big part of Blackrow’s journey and he will certainly be missed by his colleagues.

The Directors commented,

“We would like to thank Rhys for all his efforts while working at Blackrow and wish him all the very best of luck in his well-deserved retirement.

We hope he goes on to enjoy his time now with his family and friends.

Rhys should be very proud of his achievements not only while working at Blackrow but throughout the whole of his working career. He will be missed, especially with all his knowledge and experience.

All the best from everyone at Blackrow.”
