Major Project

Blackrow expands into wind energy with the formation of Blackrow Wind Incorporated, Undertaking significant projects, including collaborations with Walkers Crisps, Pipers Crisps and pursuing opportunities linked to British Steel.

Blackrow Invests in the future by embracing 33 apprentices into its workforce, taking to the total count to 300+, a strategic move following significant project accolades in Hull and Basingstoke.

2023

MBO 3

MBO 3 Group: June 2023 marked the completion of the third Management Buyout, ushering in a renewed commitment to innovation and growth within the organisation.

2022

Major Project

Blackrow secured a £6 million project from C.H Guenther & Son and continues its community engagement efforts by introducing children to recycling and engineering through installations at Ormiston South Parade Academy. The company also expanded its services with the opening of the McCloksey Department and developed a partnership with Intralox from the solution in spiral conveyance. The workforce expanded significantly to 252 employees.

2021

Major Project

Blackrow undertook several high-profile projects including the design and installation of recycling sculptures along Cleethorpes Sea Front. the company also made significant investments in machinery and secured contracts, leading to a workforce of 171 employees.

2020

Anniversary

The company celebrated its 40th Year Anniversary, secured a £2 million project with KP Snacks Popchips, and undertook notable projects including the design and fabrication of the Grimsby Haddock recycling sculpture. The workforce expanded to 168 employees.

2019

Growth

Blackrow made substantial investments for growth at its headquarters, including the installation of Nitro Cube in the Laser Department.

The company also faced challenges with key workers being part of the COVID-19 outbreak, but its workforce grew to 161 employees.

2018

Major Project

The company was awarded an £8 million project in the Textiles Industry, Peterborough, leading to an increase in the workforce to 128 employees.

2017

Rebrand

Blackrow underwent a company rebrand whilst securing £1.5 million project awarded from Allied Bakery and reaching a workforce of 121 employees.

2016

Major Project

The company secured projects in Veurne, Belgium, and Bol Holland, maintaining a workforce of 112 employees.

2015

Major Project

Blackrow secured projects worth £4.5 million at Cerealto, Worksop, and £1 million at Kelloggs, Manchester, whist maintaining a workforce of 113 employees.

2014

The Company’s workforce decreased slightly to 112 employees.

2013

Achievement

Blackrow Corporation Limited was recognised as one of the UK’s 1,000 most exciting and inspirational companies.

Additionally, the company was awarded £1 Million project at Maple Leaf, Rotherham, whilst maintaining a workforce of 118 employees.

2012

Major Project

Blackrow secured a significant project worth £5.5 million in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, whilst maintaining a workforce of 119 employees.

Blackrow expanded its capabilkities with the opening of the Laser Cutting Department, reaching a total workforce of 120 employees.

The company’s workforce continued to grow, reaching 119 employees.

Expansion

A new Machine Department was inaugurated, Chinook Project awarded and an increase in the workforce to 108 employees.

2007

Acquisition

Blackrow acquired Atomic Electrical Service Ltd and workforce increased to 83 employees.

2006

Growth

The company’s workforce increased to 69 employees.

2005

Expansion

Blackrow expanded internationally with the establishment of Blackrow International Incorporated.

2003

MBO 1 Holdings: The company achieved a significant milestone with the completion of its first Management Buyout, setting the foundation for future growth and operational independence.
